With the best in local garden to farm to table cuisine, top restaurants, nationally-awarded chefs, rising local wineries and popular breweries, it ranks at the top of this summer’s events.

Plus add in the spectacular, lush gardens of the nation’s Best Botanical Garden 2017 and there’s real magic. Taste & Toast is not to be missed!

This year’s featured chef is Jorge Guzman of Surly Brewer’s Table, finalist for 2017 James Beard Midwest Chef of the Year and 2016 semi-finalist. Brewer’s Table was also deemed one of America’s Top 10 Restaurants by Food & Wine last year. Chef Guzman follows last year’s chef, Alex Roberts of Alma (James Beard Best Chef Midwest) and 2015’s Gavin Kaysen of Spoon and Stable, James Beard Award for Rising Star Chef of the Year.

Each ticket price is all inclusive, all tastes and toasts are included, no additional costs for food or drinks.

Guests should check in at the Visitor Center. Patron Reception: 6-7 p.m. with Chef Guzman at a private reception on Morgan Terrace where he will give an exclusive 'taste' to the patron gathering and a complimentary drink. Patron tickets give visitors first access to all tastes and toasts on the grounds, plus complimentary patron swag bag, early bird price through June 1.

Jorge Guzman

It speaks volumes that Chef Guzman doesn’t get lost in the overwhelmingly impressive, $30 million Surly facility. Instead, he’s a shining star.

When he was hired, his mandate was crystal clear: “It’s all about food that tastes good with beer,” he has said. Done. Downstairs in the energetic Beer Hall, the emphasis is on boldly flavored barbecue.
